Misha was born in Moscow and is manager Campus Operations at KAHAL: Your Jewish Home Abroad . He came to Chicago shortly after graduating Brandeis University, where he got his BA and MA in May 2017, and wrote about Master's Thesis on the Soviet Jewry Movement. Modeling the klal yisrael spirit of Refuseniks, Misha founded the Coalition Against Anti-Semitism in Europe and re-founded American chapter of the World Union of Jewish Students, organizing events on more than 20 campuses and multiple countries around the world. Misha is also an accomplished chess player and coach, having won numerous state and national titles.

In his spare time (what spare time?), Misha enjoys travel, exploring his Judaism, and playing chess. He is passionate about the Russian-speaking Jews because he believes they can positively impact the Jewish community-and wants to empower them to do so.
