Simon is a storyteller.

As a national producer for Scripps News, he produces daily stories that air across the country. His role demands strong editorial judgment, clarity under pressure, empathy, and a flexible mindset, often requiring him to travel on short notice to cover breaking national news. In 2025, he reported from Los Angeles amid the devastating wildfires, and earlier this year, he covered the unrest in Minnesota following the ICE raids and violence.

Away from work, he strives to tell and play a role in shaping the story of his local community. Through his work, Simon has fostered a keen ability to discern truth in a complex and emotional environment, listen with empathy, and lead with grace, all transferable skills to his role in Jewish communal life, most recently serving as JUF Young Leadership Division (YLD) Board President from 2025 to 2026. He believes in using his personal time to giveback through both JUF Tikkun Olam Volunteer Network (TOV) and YLD, and values every person he encounters — whether a longtime leader or someone new to the community.
