Micah is one of the most distinctive Jewish food voices of her generation. As a registered
dietitian nutritionist, trained chef, award-winning cookbook author, and acclaimed children’s author, she has built a career at the intersection of food, Jewish identity, and community.
Following her move from San Francisco, Micah immediately went to work pounding the pavement to learn about Chicago’s Jewish communities and how she could incorporate her vegetarian Jewish cooking within them. Micah recently founded The Tish, a Chicagoland-based women’s Shabbat Club that donates all proceeds to charity.
“Jewish identity is not a backdrop for Micah: it is the heart of her work,” shared her friend. “She has dedicated her career to celebrating and preserving modern Jewish cuisine, bringing dishes rooted in tradition to new audiences with creativity and care.”
Beyond the kitchen, Micah is a powerhouse in food media. Asa frequent contributor to various publications, she leads high-level discourse on how Jewish cuisine tells a story of resilience and Jewish joy. Micah is currently working on her second cookbook, inspired by her Shabbat Club, the Tish, which will come out in Spring 2028.
