YLD Wishes You a Very Happy New Year!

WYLD Party in the Park - Incredible Evening

This year’s "WYLD Party in the Park" was held on August 20 at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. The evening was a huge success with over 350 people in attendance! Guests enjoyed a few drinks and a wonderful evening under the stars with friends. View Photos from the event.

YLD Shabbat Dinner: Friday, October 23

YLD Board members would like to host you for a Shabbat dinner on Friday, October 23. The Shabbat dinner will be hosted at 7:30 p.m. in Lincoln Park. The cost of the dinner is $36 (includes Kosher dinner and wine). Advanced registration is required. Limited spots are available and reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with location and details.

YLD's Big Event: Sunday, November 15

SAVE THE DATE forthe biggest YLD event of the year featuring an evening with Andy Samberg, internationally acclaimed comedian and star of Saturday Night Live! This exciting event will take place on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 6:00 pm at the Swissotel (323 East Wacker Drive).

The cost to attend is $75 per person, including hors d'oeuvres, open bar, dessert reception and after-party. In addition, all participants are required to make a donation to the 2010 JUF Annual Campaign. The minimum requirement is a match or increase to your previous JUF gift. If you have not given to JUF in the past, you are required to make a gift. Attendance at the event signifies your consent. Your donation can be paid in installments through December 2010.

Become a table host to secure group seating with your friends at the event! Table hosts will be asked to fill a table of 10 (including yourself) by having your friends register online. You will be responsible for submitting your table guest list to YLD by November 2. If you would like to be a table host, please contact the YLD office. All other seating will be general admission.

There will be a Ben-Gurion Society (BGS) VIP Reception at 5:00 p.m. to acknowledge YLD donors who contribute $1,000 or more to the 2010 JUF Annual Campaign. This intimate gathering will provide an opportunity to meet Andy Samberg in person!

Volunteer at JUF's Uptown Cafe: Tuesday, October 27

The JUF Uptown Cafe is coordinated by the Dina and Eli EZRA Multi-Service Center under the auspices of the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago. This cafe, which is a kosher, anti-hunger program, provides 4 meals per week to people who are hungry while nourishing their spirits. Volunteers are needed to serve meals in a restaurant-style soup kitchen.

  • Tuesday, October 27 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Uptown Cafe (909 W. Wilson, Chicago)
  • 7 volunteers needed
