Young Women's City Council (YWC)
Mission
Our mission is to create and build a vibrant Jewish women’s community in the city of Chicago. Representing the Jewish United Fund, we offer educational and outreach programs, mitzvot opportunities and tzedakah events.
Young Women’s City Council (YWC) Pillars
Community Development
Assist with the coordination of Fall and Spring Insights along with the Event Committee.
Leadership Development
Focus on Gateways (formerly FLEX) programs and other leadership development projects. The Goal of Gateways is to educate and inform you about the agencies and programs that JUF supports in the city of Chicago. It educates you on what JUF does every day on the front lines and enables you to meet recipients of JUF agencies as well as JUF employees/volunteers.
Mitzvah Opportunities
In conjunction with JUF’s Tikkun Olam Network (TOV), coordinate special volunteer opportunities for groups of women are offered throughout the year.

Outreach
Organize social gatherings at fun locations across the City to help build council membership.
Tzedakah
- Plan Tzedakah Committee events and education programs
- Make a meaningful contribution to the Jewish United Fund - Israel Emergency Fund.
The 2010 Parlor Event will be held the evening of Wednesday, November 18th at the home Dana Hirt (in Lincoln Park). Guest speaker Farideh Goldin, author of Wedding Song: Memoirs of an Iranian Jewish Woman, will share her personal story. The event celebrates women who make an individual contribution of $750 or more to the 2010 JUF Annual Campaign. Register online.
