TOV MTV Upcoming Opportunities, Fall-Winter 2009-2010

When: Sunday, October 25, 2009
Where: Target, 2241 Willow Rd., Glenview
Time: 1:00-3:00 pm
Volunteers Needed: 0
Details: We will shop for winter coats, boots, gloves, hats and scarves for the people Jewish Child and Family Services helps. No need to bring cash. Shoppers get a budget based on grants and support JCFS gets from individuals and community groups. Teens get to pick out the right colors, sizes and matching accessories.

When: Sunday, November 22, 2009
Where: CJE SeniorLife Lieberman Campus, 9700 Gross Point Rd., Skokie
Time: 1:00-3:30 pm
Volunteers Needed: 0
Details: Come help out at the CJE SeniorLife Lieberman Campus, a 240-bed nursing home facility in Skokie. We will visit with residents, escort them to and join in the day’s entertainment, serve snacks and have fun!

When: Sunday, December 13, 2009
Where: Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N Clark Street, Chicago (Fullerton and Cannon Drive)
Time: 5:00-9:00 pm (We will be assigning 2-hour shifts, first come, first serve)
Volunteers Needed: 0
Details: Volunteer with your family and enjoy the holiday lights, music, and a rare nighttime view of the zoo as you lead simple holiday-related craft activities in the family crafts area. Complimentary parking will be provided.


*Children younger than 6th grade must have an adult with them at all times.

When: Monday, January 18, 2010
Where: 909 W. Wilson Ave. (between Hazel and Sheridan) in the Dina and Eli Field EZRA Multi-Service Center
Time: 5:30-7:30 pm
Volunteers Needed: 0
Details: The JUF Uptown Cafe, a kosher, restaurant-style anti-hunger program, provides meals to people who are hungry while, at the same time, nourishing their spirits. Volunteers will set tables, serve a meal, clear tables and visit with guests. The Dina and Eli Field EZRA Multi-Service Center coordinates the JUF Uptown Cafe under the auspices of the Jewish Community Center of Chicago.
