The Jewish Teen Alliance of Chicago (JTAC) is a teen board made up of members involved in various Chicago-based Jewish youth groups or youth organizations. JTAC members are responsible for sharing information about their youth groups with the board and for gathering information about happenings in the Chicagoland Jewish youth community and sharing that with their organizations.

This year, a key focus on JTAC will be supporting 18 Under 18: A Celebration of Jewish Teens and serving as the teen Planning Committee.

Responsibilities:

General

  • Attend at least 80% of the monthly meetings
  • Complete all assignments by deadline; there will be no more than one assignment per month
  • Prepare updates from the organization they are representing to share at JTAC meetings
  • Share JTAC announcements with teens from organization JTAC member represents

18 Under 18 Specific

  • Soliciting nominations for honorees
  • Reviewing applications
  • Planning parts of the 18 Under 18 community-wide event
  • Promoting event registration
  • Attending and helping out at the 18 Under 18 event.

Qualifications:

  • High school student living in the greater Chicago area
  • Member in good standing of a Chicago area Jewish youth organization
  • Viewed as a formal or informal leader by teens and staff of a Jewish Youth group or organization

Application:

We are accepting nominations from youth professionals for teens that will be strong representatives on the JTAC board. Teens can also apply without a nomination, but will be asked to seek an endorsement from a Jewish youth professional.
