RJD's Shabbat Series

Friday, March 24, 2017 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM <Add to Calendar>

RJD is welcoming a new series of Friday night dinners for young Russian Jewish Professionals! Get together in the city, unwind after a long week, celebrate Shabbat and discuss various Jewish topics.

For the second installment in this series, the goal of the evening is to welcome the warm weather of spring, celebrate Shabbat, and meet new friends/community members! Mingle with the hosts of the event who are our very own Board Members of the Russian Jewish Division of JUF.

Israeli-style Mediterranean Kosher dinner will be enjoyed. Space is very limited and RSVP is required! The dinner will take place in the home of an RJD board member near Ashland & Addison. For privacy reasons we will send out the address to those who RSVP only. Please register by Tuesday, March 21st, so that we have an accurate count and can order enough food. Cost: $15pp (BYOB for adults 21+). Candle lighting at 6:48 pm; dinner starts at 7.

'Let My People Go'

Sunday, April 16, 2017 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM <Add to Calendar>

Celebrate Passover with Bravo Theatre and a show “Let My People Go”! This is a bright and colorful show. It reminds delicious layered cake stuffed with memorable pieces from a wide variety of vocal and dance numbers and original flow. Some of them have become classics, handed down from generation to generation, the other are modern, beautiful and dynamic. Audience will hear songs in Hebrew, Yiddish, English and Russian performed by children of all ages.

“Let My People Go” is a new and exciting production of Bravo Theatre through ‘Khaverim’ initiative. In 2016, Marina Teleysnik was awarded the Tikkun Fellowship by the JUF’s Russian Jewish Division to create a first of its kind in Chicago Jewish Theatre project in Russian language. Bravo organized a group of children that worked hard for a few months learning Jewish culture through the art of theatre. Free admission.
