Due to health reasons, our guest speaker Ruth Gavison was unable to make the trip to the U.S. However, we are excited that the Israeli Foreign Ministry is making available to us, via live video conference, Daniel Taub, the ministry's Senior Legal Advisor. At the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, Taub is leading Israel's legal and diplomatic efforts against the findings of the Goldstone Report, a role he played as well in connection with Israel's security fence a few years ago. Read his recent op-ed in the Boston Globe and his 2004 statement at the Hague regarding the security fence. Taub is a brilliant legal scholar and practitioner and leads some of the teams negotiating with the Palestinian Authority. We look forward to our timely, interactive meeting with Mr. Taub and to seeing you tomorrow. If you have RSVP'd already, there is no need to reconfirm; if you haven't RSVP'd, please do so as space is tight. Finally, if your plans have changed and you can't now join us, please do let us know that too. |
