JCRC and JUF's Lawyers Division host Ruth Gavison, distinguished law professor at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a former visiting law professor at Yale, Stanford and USC. Her topic will be "The Legal Argument for Defining Israel as the State of the Jewish People." As you know, the acceptance of Israel as a Jewish state is one of the key points surrounding the restarting of peace negotiations.

A federal appeals court on Friday upheld a sentence of more than 11 years in prison for a former business professor who refused to answer grand jury questions about his relationship with Hamas.

JCRC monitored Abdelhaleem Ashqar and Mohammad Salah's trial beginning in 2006.

Due to a significant increase in our meeting costs, we regretfully had to increase our lunch meeting charge to $15, which is not tax deductible. This change took effect with the September 29th meeting.
