Featuring Distinguished Speaker Dr. Bernd Wollschlaeger Author of A German Life

Bernd Wollschlaeger, MD, FAAFP was born, raised, and educated in Germany. Dr. Wollschlaeger is the son of a highly-decorated WWII tank commander and Nazi officer. He shares his story about the journey from his Nazi father's house of hatred to the ranks of the Jewish people.

Horrified by his father's part in the effort to rid the world of Jews, Bernd began his journey to get beyond the hatred and learn more about the Jewish people. He was compelled to change his life dramatically and eventually converted to Judaism, immigrated to Israel and served in the Israel Defense Forces as a Medical Officer.

Dr. Wollschlaeger tells his story in A German Life. He also actively participated in the documentary "The Ghosts of the Third Reich," which was aired in the US, Europe, Brazil and China. In addition he is producing a documentary titled "Elias' Dream: A Man's Journey towards Peace," highlighting the issue of Jewish–Arab Coexistence in Israel.

Dr. Bernd Wollschlaeger and his family live in Florida where he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
